About Maddy E Carelock
I am currently working as a postdoctoral associate at the University of Florida under the co-mentorship of Drs. Weizhou Zhang and Elias Sayour. My research interests are primarily, but not limited to, drug development and translational immuno-oncology. I have expertise in PROTAC degrader technology and combinatorial immunotherapy approaches for multiple cancer models including pancreatic and breast cancer. My current post-doc work focuses on continued drug optimization of our newly patented PROTACs while beginning new projects involving fate mapping circulating tumor cells through machine-learning approaches. I will also be working on expanding our lab’s mRNA cancer vaccine toolbox by treating squamous cell carcinomas in aquatic large animal models such as dolphins and sea turtles.
I am involved in numerous programs throughout campus including educational initiatives such as our UFHCC Ambassador Committee and our high school and undergraduate mentorship programs such as the Student Science Training Program and University Scholars Program, respectively.
See my CV for more detailed information regarding my presentations, grants, and lab experience. Feel free to reach out regarding any questions or potential collaborations! 🙂
